About the Department

The Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest and broadest of the engineering discipline which applies engineering physics, engineering mathematics and material science principal to design, analyse, manufacture and maintain mechanical systems. It offers B. Tech programme of four Years duration in Mechanical Engineering having a sanctioned intake of 120 seats. B.Tech programme covers the major areas of Design, Thermodynamics, Manufacturing/Production and Materials & Metallurgy. In addition, knowledge on software tools such as AUTO CAD, Solidworks, Inventor, ANSYS, CATIA and CAD/CAM etc. used in design and analysis of practical problems is also provided.

On completion of the programme, numbers of avenues open up for the graduate engineers. They can either pursue postgraduate programme in Engineering & Management disciplines or take up career in some of the companies in public and private sector. The graduate can appear for ‘All India Engineering Services’ and /or Administration Services Examination.
